Notes for Esther Chapter 9

Esther's and Mordecai's letters regarding the feast of Purim.

Esther 9:1-11
On the 13th day of the 12th month the Jews in Shushan defended themselves and killed 500 of their enemies and the 10 sons of Haman.

Esther 9:12-13
King Ahasuerus asked Esther to make another request, so she asked to let the Jews defend themselves on the next day also and to hang the 10 Haman’s sons.

Esther 9:14-16
On the 14th day of the 12th month the Jews in Shushan defended themselves again and killed 300 of their enemies and hanged the 10 Haman’s sons, but the Jews in other places killed 75,000 of their enemies on the 13th day of the same month.

Esther 9:17-19
The Jews in walled cities celebrated their freedom from their enemies on the 15th day of the 12th month, but the Jews in the unwalled towns/villages celebrated on the 14th day of the same month.

Esther 9:20-32
Mordecai and Esther confirmed and established the Jew’s feast of Purim.
