Nehemiah appointed Hanani and Hananiah as the rulers over Jerusalem.
Nehemiah found a genealogy list of Israel’s captives which returned back to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah.
The totals of people and animals that returned to Jerusalem and to the cities of Judah, (the number of singers is larger here than in Ezra Chapter 2 by 45 people, but there must be a perfectly good explanation for that difference):
– People = 42,360
– Servants = 7,337
– Horses = 736
– Mules = 245
– Camels = 435
– Donkeys = 6,720
